Unlike competing offerings that often use lower performing Chinese market variants (RTX 4090-D with AD102-250-A1 cores), our upgrades boast the use of full variant AD102-300-A1 4090 cores.

Memory architecture follows NVIDIA's original reference (NVIDIA PG139) design specifications, utilizing Micron OEM-certified GDDR6X modules to preserve the full real world 900 GB/s bandwidth. The 48GB mod's main advantages are:

  • Double the VRAM. Larger VRAM capacity for multi-tennant small-model LLM inferencing, or large model interencing/training with clusters of 4090's (48*8 = 384GB, or 48*4 = 192GB GDDR6X VRAM). Typically when it comes to Ai, its not compute power, but vram capacity that is the limitation for all Ai research right now.
  • Ability to pack cards densely within a computer or server rack, utilizing standard optimized motherboard x16 pcie slot spacing (typically x16 slots are spaced 2 slots apart) - you want to use x16 slots for full bandwidth to your GPU's between each GPU and/or your CPU.

Understanding the Performance Metrics

The point of this upgrade is to take bulky multi slot 4090's and make them density-friendly. We double the vram and see no performance degredation compared to a stock 4090 across AI workloads.

The increased memory capacity from 24 to 48Gb allows for larger batch sizes, reduced memory swapping, and the ability to train larger models that would otherwise require model sharding or quantization.
